Saturday Stuff

Now that's funny I don't care who you are voting for. What scares me is the treatment "Joe the Plumber" got from several regulatory agencies at the state level in checking on every aspect of his life. Their excuses for doing so were lame at best. This was just one American expressing his concern to a candidate for the highest office in our land. This same candidate has had the records of his background sealed. Joe Citizen is fair game for veiled threats and intimidation for daring to confront a major candidate, while the candidate won't even release the most basic of his personal information. The real puzzle to me is no one except the fringe elements of media and the Internet seem to think it's strange. I was a criminal investigator for over thirty years and I think it is very strange. I have never seen anyone coated in so much Teflon.

Well, I was shocked Friday morning when I went to vote early. Since I am, according to the media, one of maybe five people voting for McCain/Palin, I expected huge media coverage. I just knew I would have to wait in a long line for the members of Obama's Opposition Obstructionist Party to cast their ballots. But there were no National Media Mobile broadcast trucks there, and only three Democrats. I was dressed in black to make a statement for all the world to see, but all in vain. I really haven't seen huge lines anywhere thus far in early voting. I wonder how they will handle all the dead people, and the masses of people living under the bridges? How will they get to the polls? I am still having to snipe at Democrats who will not let go of their lame reasons for supporting "The Phantom." He doesn't know where he came from, he doesn't know where he's going, and he doesn't know what or how he will accomplish his mission once he gets there. Be assured the socialists who pull his little puppet strings know what is going to happen. I just have trouble believing the majority of silent voters won't turn out in unheard of numbers and give the arrogant pretenders a good left hook to the liver.
Now I know some of you who read me are "good" Democrats. I just can't figure where your heads are right now. How could you condone the obvious voter fraud groups like Acorn are openly committing? How could you be for a party who has a platform plank making it legal to use abortion (murder) for birth control? Why don't you add a plank to make killing old people in nursing homes legal for the convenience of those saddled with the burden of caring for them? How could you be for a party, who as I recall, said it was O.K. for a sitting pardoned felon, Bill Clinton, to have oral sex in the White House with a young intern, and yet feigns shock when a young teen aged girl is pregnant out of wedlock (and this only because she is the daughter of the V.P. candidate of the opposing party). Check your voter roles - I would bet money the percentages of young women on those roles who are in the same condition are exponentially greater than those in the same demographic on the roles of the opposition party. It is pure hypocrisy. How could you be for a party which advocates taking over more businesses and involving itself in a greater way in controlling every aspect of our lives in direct conflict with the U. S. Constitution. Can you name one federal agency that is not mired in the hopelessness of managing programs of such magnitude? Do you not remember the Carter years? I just can't wrap my mind around it. Do you not realize it is not really the President, but the party who controls the legislature, and the judiciary that put us in these perilous times? Check your own party's record on ignoring the warnings about Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac. Check to see where the warnings were coming from. As greedy as private business and banking may be, it was the leaders of the Democrat Party who forced them into abandoning sound business practices and making loans to people who they knew would never be able to pay them back. Who got rich? The Democrats who controlled these government backed giants. The same people who funneled millions to Community Organizers like Barack Obama, and the same people who will benefit from his election. The Republicans we voted for in record numbers eight years ago failed to steer the course and failed to place the proper road blocks in place to stop the "out of control" Democrats. But I can assure you we do not need any more input from our own Socialist Party in order to right the ship. We may need a Constitutional Convention to overcome the damage done to our Constitution by the liberal judiciary.
I leave you with these quotes:

="One of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the great struggle for independence.": Charles Austin Beard (1874-1948)

="What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms".: Thomas Jefferson

="A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves": Edward R. Murrow

=
"I believe that any man who takes the liberty of another into his keeping is bound to become a tyrant, and that any man who yields up his liberty, in however slight the measure, is bound to become a slave:" H. L. Mencken

It is hard to mount an argument in this day and time for one party without sounding like a sycophant, however to try and defend the Democrats is impossible without sounding like a psychotic. Dennis Price

Discovery in the Storm

What if Benjamin Franklin had not gone out in the storm and conducted his experiment? Where would we be today? I was without electricity during our recent hurricane for only a few hours and I was reminded of how much we depend on electrical energy. Well, electrical energy, as we know it, is generated from other forms of energy. So, we need to find economical ways to generate it. Many who use a lot of the energy want others to carry the burden of producing it while allegedly protecting their own environment from damage. In following this path, they place all kinds of burdensome regulations on the industries who produce it and they become obstructionists when it comes to protecting the economy and well being of the rest of the country. I think something needs to be done and done soon to stop these single minded folks from exercising the power of their positions over the rest of the populace.

We need a sensible energy policy and we need it now. I know many of you read these blogging comments of mine with some angst, and wonder if you should participate in commenting on them. I can't answer that question for you. I believe that exercising our freedom to speak is very important. As people we have been over sensitized to always consider what others might think of us if we speak what is on our minds. I believe in being civil (while being frank and forthright) in making my arguments. I am keen on hearing the arguments from folks who don't see things as I do. Why? Because I can learn from their arguments. However, I am through attempting to tiptoe around issues that are important to me. I was gagged for thirty years as a government agent. I wasn't allowed to freely participate the way the rest of you could. I have a lot of catching up to do.

People everywhere confuse what they read in newspapers with news. - AJ Liebling

If you are using the major media sources for your information on anything you are being deluded. Major media has become a biased and one sided sycophant to the elitist liberal socialists. Their agenda is not what it seems and they hide their desire for global control behind all kinds of hot button social and environmental reform smoke screens. The uneducated masses who form a large portion of their voting base are swayed into blindly following by promises of various entitlement monies from the U. S. Treasury. While pandering to a plethora of single interest groups with promises of recognition of every aberrant philosophy and lifestyle, they throttle the freedom the majority of the educated voting public holds dear. The governmental leaders in this party don't follow the rules they lay down for others, and they get rich in businesses meant to ease the suffering of those who are less fortunate. When challenged with solid arguments that expose this hipocracy, they resort to holding their ears and shouting trite worn out slogans that lay the blame for our sorry state of affairs everywhere except their doorstep. I think this little illustration speaks volumes:

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, 'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am.'

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, 'You're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49..09 minutes west longitude.

She rolled her eyes and said, 'You must be a Republican.'

'I am,' replied the man. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' answered the balloonist, 'everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and I'm still lost.. Frankly, you've not been much help to me.'

The man smiled and responded, 'You must be a Democrat.'

'I am,' replied the balloonist. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' said the man, 'you don't know where you are or where you're going.

You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air.

You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect ME to solve your problem.

You're in EXACTLY the same position you were in before we met, but somehow now, it's MY fault.

To be great is to be misunderstood. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Equal Time

In the interest of fairness, I want to give those on the other side of the aisle equal time. I just want you to listen to this Harvard educated lawyer as he speaks with out using a teleprompter. Go ahead Senator Obama. Thank you for clearing that up for us. Well, what did you expect? I know that nothing I can do will change the mind of those of you who are all set to make history with this guy. I'm just not sure it's the kind of history we need to make in this country. Do you understand now why he doesn't want to do any Town Hall meetings with John McCain? I think before November this transparent shell of a politician will self destruct. I wonder what other unqualified candidates the Democrats have waiting in the wings to take his place. He is going to break under the pressure of this campaign is my prediction. I'll be watching.

A Thank You Letter From Our Enemies

A thank you note from the Arabs...

I would like to thank you for the following:

Not developing your 250-300 year supply of oil shale and tar sands. we know if you did this, it would create millions of jobs for US citizens, expand your engineering capabilities, and keep the wealth in the US instead of sending it to us to finance our war against you lunatics. Thanks for limiting defense department purchases of oil sands from your neighbors to the north. We love it when you confuse your allies. Thanks for over regulating every segment of your economy and thus delaying, by decades, the development of alternate fuel technologies.

Thanks for limiting drilling off your coasts, in Alaska , and anywhere there is a bug, bird, fish, or plant that might be inconvenienced. Better that your people suffer! Glad to see our lobbying efforts have been so effective.
Corn based Ethanol. Praise Allah for this sham program! Perhaps you will destroy yourself from the inside with these types of policies. This is a gift from Allah, praise his name! We never would have thought of this one!

This is better than when you pay your farmers NOT TO GROW FOOD. Have them use more energy to create less energy, and simultaneously drive food prices through the roof. Thank you US Congress!!!! And finally, we appreciate you letting us fleece you without end. You will be glad to know we have been accumulating shares in your banks, real estate,and publicly held companies. We also finance a good portion of your debt and now manipulate your markets, currency, and economies to our benefit.

THANK YOU AMERICA

And a special thanks to the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi for all your support.

Cow Washing and Politics

Late yesterday afternoon, I was giving my cow a bath so I wouldn't have to watch the local news, and I decided I may be a little out of step with the rest of the known world. I gave up on talking heads many years ago after experiencing what they do when denied access to a dangerous situation. The media has gone the way of many institutions in our Country, they seem to want drama and cheap thrills at any cost. Truth, accuracy, human kindness, and decency all seem to be left in the wash in favor entertainment value, ratings, and shock value. It's something new with politicians every day. I am appalled by our current slate of political candidates. Are there no Statesmen left who can afford to be elected? A front runner with very little experience in anything was quoted as saying;

"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it." (B. Obama)

Now, the obvious question to me would be, given we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world, why do we want to change it? He is not alone in the arena of "What did he/she just say?", all of the politically and socially correct mavens succumb to this circuitous politi-speak. That leaves many of us scratching our heads as we stare at the voting ballot.

I know, I'm tempted to dumb down so I can abide what many people are glad to put up with as the norm on a daily basis, but, sixty years of harsh reality and several courses from the University of Hard Knocks in critical thinking make this impossible for me to do. There is also a danger in attempting this as C. S. Lewis tells us;

The trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed. -
CS Lewis

I think it's time to downsize government. To do that we are going to need to seek out people who are willing to make some hard choices. People who put their personal poll ratings aside in favor of what's right for our Country's future. Nobody I've seen so far fits the bill. Collectively we all need to get our hands out of the treasury and put them to work doing what needs to be done locally. In response, taxes need to be slashed. I detest the idea of living in a huge collective.

As Steven Wright tells us; "There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot."

I'm for ditching the well known posers and getting some real down to earth (proven) workers to fill what positions remain after we downsize the whole mess.
Will Rogers once said;

"Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for."

Politicians

I don't know about you, but this says a lot about big government. I am not impressed by anyone currently holding a leading position in the slate of candidates for President. I know, this could be a representation of your current predicament at work or elsewhere, but let's talk government today. We get rebates to stimulate the economy. We are getting back what is ours to begin with. Someone compared it to taking water from the deep end of the swimming pool and putting it back into the shallow end. Also, if I remember my Civics lessons correctly, the U. S. Constitution allows our law makers to legislate in only four areas; Taxation, Manufacture of Currency, National Security, and Interstate Commerce. How do we get bills loaded with pork in areas like Education, Welfare, The Arts, Health Care, and the like? I have recently started writing my alleged representatives, in both the House and Senate, for some answers to these simple questions. I receive almost nothing from the Democrats other than a one-liner stating they received my inquiry, and from the Republicans I receive a three page statement outlining all the wonderful things they are doing for me, but failing to answer the simple question of where they got permission to do it.

I understand nexus, and I also understand the misuse of nexus. I am leaning toward any candidates who are demonstrating by their actions and voting record a move toward smaller governmental presence in our daily affairs. Let each State handle its own internal problems. If your State is too poor to sufficiently handle your particular need, then move, or handle it yourself. I think hurricanes Katrina, and Rita demonstrate how dependence on government affects those who have become wards of the system.

This is the former home of a friend of mine who lived across the bay from Bay St. Louis, MS. A thirty foot wall of water hit his house and drove it nearly a half mile into the surrounding woods. He and his family did the clean-up. There were no media crews covering his personal tragedy, and no outcry of blame cast upon anyone for a terrible storm. The other victims of Katrina and Rita were virtually ignored while all attention was focused on the totally out of control situation involving the dependent welfare population of New Orleans, LA . Outside of New Orleans, in other areas of Louisiana hit by the storms, very few were blaming their troubles on the government. People did what they have always done and pieced together their lives with very little aid from government. Let's face it, our national media does not report the truth. If you are dependent on their statistics and spin, then you are uninformed.

I do not take a single newspaper, nor read one a month, and I feel myself infinitely the happier for it. - Thomas Jefferson

A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have. -Thomas Jefferson

It is an age old problem, but we must address the problem of government overstepping its bounds. I hope you are able to see beyond the socialist promises designed to address some individual need, but making you more dependent, and vote for the downsizing of the government's role in our lives.

If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
