O.K., I'm from the South.

These guys could be cousins of mine. Yes, we do have people like this in the South. They are called by a variety of names, jokes are made about them, their family trees are maligned, and their mental stability is often at issue. Why then have we not heard anyone come to their defense? Well, they are white. There is no prohibition against using the "R" word. There is no hate speech crime that applies to this segment of our population. You might get some governmental recognition if you were a "Gay" Redneck. They probably account for some of the crime statistics in the U. S. related to drinking too much, domestic violence, gun related offenses, or a combination of the three mentioned above, but no one seems to care.

Strangely enough, in my travels across this great land of ours, I discovered they are everywhere. Yes, even in the far reaches of the Northeast where the liberal elite reside, one can find "Rednecks." Most work for a living, pay taxes, and take care of their families. They may not be eloquent in their speechifying, but most have a moral code. In truth, they are any white blue collar worker. Let them show up anywhere at a town hall meeting and try to explain their dissatisfaction with the liberal elitists, who make up a goodly portion of our current administration, and they are called an unruly mob. They are accused of taking orders from big business, or even worse from their cousins in the South. Everyone knows how unruly they are, right?

As ridiculous as this seems, our main stream media is only to happy to perpetuate the myth. I received degrees from two Universities in the South, but my education is not recognized as valid by the liberal elite because I didn't attend college in the Northeast, or perhaps California. This is purely myth. Some of the best Universities in this country are in the South.
I get weary of the prejudicial treatment white Southerners get every time the D.C. crowd is challenged on the issues. In truth, I don't think any Southerner wants the kind of phony preferential treatment given to any of the governmental protected classes.

"I'd rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University."
- William F. Buckley, Jr., Great American Thinker

I know there are good people all over the U. S. who rarely appear anywhere other than their home towns. But, they are getting fed up with being treated like second class citizens by the power hungry elitist in the country. I know the caring people in this great nation are made up of folks from every nationality and creed, but white people have become the easy target for politicians bent on diverting the attention of the voting populace away from the real issues. You can do anything to a white citizen and not be challenged. The current laws we have on our books that leave the white citizen out of the equation in favor of protected classes are unconstitutional and should be repealed.

I never apologize for being white, or being from the South. I don't think it gives me any special advantage or leg-up on anyone else, but it certainly doesn't disqualify me for equal recognition or protection under the law. If one can be punished for using derogatory language against protected classes, then all should be afforded the same consideration.

I think most working Americans are plenty smart enough to recognize that this administration is headed up by an empty suit directed by a socialist political machine bent on seizing power. Greed is not reserved soley for the corporate executive. Powerful politicians, even in communist dictatorships, get rich on the backs of the laborers and tax payers. Don't be fooled by this idea we need big government to take care of us. Even with its obvious flaws, the free market system is still the best anywhere in the world. It can be controlled when people pay attention and are willing to get involved. I love the grassroot movement we are seeing spring up to take on those who think we are too dumb to care.

As Barack Obama spends day after day touring the world (how many days has he spent in the Oval Office?), trashing America and taking the country on a trip to hell in a hand basket, the liberal electorate and fawning media for the most part remain completely enthralled by the One. Although his poll numbers have dropped considerably, liberals have yet to abandon ship as they remain strong supporters of the Dictator-in-Chief despite his anti-American agenda.

From socializing the country's infrastructure to gutting the Constitution, from cozying up to the world's tyrants to abandoning proven allies, many on the left simply cannot, or will not, open their eyes to the frightening direction in which Obama is taking our country. There are only so many times that one can use the phrase "drinking the kool aid" or "brainwashed by his rhetoric." At some point, liberals must be held accountable for their willful ignorance.
