I guess Notre Dame University was not going to confer sainthood, but only an honorary degree. The rest of non-thinking America has already conferred the "Saint Obama" title on our first "half black" non-citizen President. You disagree? Give me some proof. I never intended to watch his self serving Press Conference because I knew the teleprompter would be working and we would get nothing of substance. It was ironic the only major network show listed in the same time slot was a new show called, "Lie to Me". The on screen guide could have saved time by using that title for the Press Conference. Columnist Kathleen Parker introduced me to Mary Ann Glendon today. I say, thank you Mary Ann for having some moxie. Parker's Op-Ed piece is entitled "Obama should bow out from 'Our Lady'." Quoting from the article; "Glendon - a Harvard University law professor and a respected author on bioethics and human rights and former Vatican Ambassador declined Notre Dame's Laetare Medal in part because Barack Obama was invited to be commencement speaker and receive an honorary degree. In an April 27 letter to Notre Dame's president, the Rev. John I. Jenkins Glendon wrote of her dismay that Obama was to receive the degree in disregard of the U. S. bishops' position that Catholic institutions "should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles."Parker went on to say that Glendon felt she was being used to deflect criticism of the action by the university. Our area is very heavily populated with Catholics and voted heavily for Obama. I really don't see how they can reconcile supporting the Democrat's platform and their religious beliefs. The answer is, we also have an under/educated voting populace. They vote for whomever the Democrat machine tells them to vote for. We are being sold down the river folks. Nancy Pelosi has to be the stupidest Speaker of the House in history. Discussing Arlen Specter's decision to become a Democrat, she blurted out the Democrats' real thoughts on open government. From the Hill's Briefing Room blog:
Very exciting, very exciting for the American people, because now we can get things done without explaining process," Pelosi told CNN's Candy Crowley.
Yes, legislative deliberations are complicated, and we wouldn't want to voters to know too much.
I will be forced to post more than once a day to keep up with this nonsense being forced down our collective throats. I just got ten pocket sized copies of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence before Herr Obama decides to burn them.
The great enemy of clear language is insincerity. When there is a gap between one's real and one's declared aims, one turns as it were instinctively to long words and exhausted idioms, like a cuttlefish spurting out ink.
