Singin' The Blues

Well, for some it may be Blue Monday, but for Pappy and Bebe it was Blue Saturday. Our Parks and Recreations Department put on a free outdoor concert called, Blues on the Hill. The day was perfect for an outdoor event with warm temperatures, a good breeze, and clear blue skies. Blues music is not my genre of choice, but we have an acquaintance here in town who has a blues band. Bruce is about our age and so are most of the members of the band. They are known as Big Brucie and the Maxtones, and they have been playing together for many years. Bruce is an attorney practicing in our area. Four bands were featured in the concert which ran from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The turnout was good, and Big Brucie and the Maxtones didn't disappoint.

As you can see we are on a hillside, Actually it is a sloping bank running down to a walking trail along the bank of the Arroyo Colorado, a man made stream that runs into the Laguna Madre. The highest natural point in Harlingen, TX is about thirteen feet above sea level. We had a great time, but my ear drums were sufficiently numb by eight o'clock so we made our way home to recover. Father's Day was just right. I hope you have a wonderful week.
